Resting

Velvet soft, autumn breeze bright, gorged with sun light
Soothing ray, upon bed of leaves where I lay at ease
Unworried by winter ahead or the life that I’ve lead
I gaze upon a cloud, single and slowly drifting through the sky
Through shroud and sky, my thoughts yonder fly, on swift wing
On swift wind winging away on sun’s ray, hearing silent heart sing
Listening to meaning of mental meandering… I lay, resting.

  1. Mmmm. Very nice. I just let myself float along, that bed of leaves sounding so inviting...seeking the ease and a heart that sings again.

  4. Thanks Annie, I doubt your heart is truly silent... Maybe just singing a bit more softly.

Uhm... Thanks Niki. I've noticed these award things on other blogs, I'll google them to see what they're about. Is it a viral blog promotion/sharing device?

Thanks Maggie, that was the intent it was written with (there's a story there), glad it worked.

  5. This was so poetic; I recognize the sentiments. I often rest this way, as I love to lie on a meadow on a summer day, when everything is still and I can be allowed to gaze at the blue blanket above me, while the white fluffy clouds pass by...
It is the best way to relax.,)

  6. They are just little pictures - blog bling. You don't have to put them on your blog at all. It was just to show my appreciation of your comments and your blog :o)) They're quite fun but time consuming when you have to do the rules then link whoever you are passing them on to. I like them because they give me something to blog about!! hehe

  7. @Zuzana: I can just picture you doing so! I guess, I'm a bit too restless for that. I would have to be reading, or drawing, or exploring, climbing a tree, or something. Glad you enjoyed this piece too.

@Niki: Yes, I've read. Thanks for the love Niki!
So, you've given me an award in appreciation for my showing appreciation for your blog...

Heheh. I can see this snowballing: a self perpetuating snowball of appreciation, that will eventually explode in on itself and become a supernova of mutual appreciation that will blast shining love throughout the blog universe so brightly that it will sear everyone's hearts...

No, I don't think I can risk that. So, with thanks, I'll just keep this award tucked away in my mind. ; j

  8. Sunny and soothing. I'm not a rester, once I'm up I have to be doing something even if it's just typing out mindless comments to other bloggers.

  9. Pah, mindless, yeah right.

I'd be tempted to say there isn't a mindless bone in your body... But for one thing, it would be a mindlessly dumb thing to say, and for another even if bones had minds, I don't know if all your bones have minds or not; maybe your humerus is mindless... I wouldn't know.

Tangent set aside, thanks for being a regular visitor Eryl, your comments are always interesting.
